Connect the app from Settings > Connected apps, fully restart the AI app, then click Recheck in Locul. Apps on your computer connect through a local setup, never a URL. Only web apps (claude.ai, ChatGPT in the browser, Grok Bot) use the address https://team-api.locul.ai/mcp.

Reconnect an app on your computer

This covers Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

  1. Click Connect apps at the bottom of the left rail. This opens Settings > Connected apps.
  2. Under Use Locul memory in your AI apps, find your app and click Connect.
  3. Quit the AI app fully and open it again.
  4. In Locul, click Recheck.

If your app is not listed

  1. Click Manual setup below the app list.
  2. Copy the setup block it shows.
  3. Paste it into your app’s MCP settings file and save.
  4. Restart the AI app, then click Recheck in Locul.

For Cursor, the file is ~/.cursor/mcp.json on a Mac and %USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json on Windows. A .cursor/mcp.json inside a project only works in that project. See Connect Cursor to Locul.

Check the common causes

  • Wrong address. Desktop apps must use the local setup from Manual setup, not a URL. An Ollama address such as localhost:11434 is only for choosing a model inside Locul. It is never the Locul connection.
  • Different email. For web apps, sign in to the connector with the same email you use in the Locul app.
  • Plan ended. Check Settings > Account shows an active plan or trial.
  • Local-only mode. Web apps cannot reach your memories when storage is set to Local-only in Settings > Cloud and local. Apps on your computer still can.
  • Locul is closed. Desktop apps reach your memories through the Locul app, so keep it running.

Still not connecting
