How do I import bots from Claude Code, Codex and Grok Bot?
Open Settings, then Import bots, pick where your bots live, review them and add them to Locul. Your originals stay unchanged.
On this page
Open Settings > Import bots, choose where your bots live, review what Locul found and add them. Your originals are never changed, and bots already in Locul are skipped.
Open the import page
- Click Settings (the gear at the bottom left).
- Under Bots, click Import bots.
- Next to the source you want, click Choose.
You can run the import again whenever you add more bots. Locul never copies the same bot twice: bots you already have show as Already here.
From Claude Code or Codex
Locul reads the skills and agents on this computer, for example in ~/.claude/skills, ~/.claude/agents and ~/.codex/skills.
- Choose Turn Claude skills into bots (Claude Code) or Codex.
- Under Found on this computer, tick the skills and agents you want. Click Review to see what one contains.
- For Claude Code, you can also look inside a project folder: type its path and click Look.
- Click Add N to Locul.
Each bot comes with its name, instructions and tool limits. It runs on your Locul default AI. Nothing is changed in Claude Code or Codex.
Bring it all over in one click: instead of picking items, click Import with
From Grok Bot
- Choose Import from Grok Bot. Locul lists your Grok Bot agents.
- For each agent you want, click Get full setup. This copies a request and opens the agent in Grok Bot.
- Paste the request into Grok Bot, then copy its reply.
- Back in Locul, paste the reply and click Review what it contains.
- Click Confirm and add to Locul.
If Locul shows “No bots found”, open the Grok Bot app once, then try again.
From Claude Desktop, claude.ai, ChatGPT or another AI app
- Choose Claude Desktop or web, ChatGPT or a custom GPT, or Paste one bot’s instructions.
- Click Copy request and paste it into that app.
- Back in Locul, give the bot a name and paste the app’s reply.
- Click Review what it contains, then Confirm and add to Locul.
Scheduled tasks stay off
Imported routines and scheduled tasks are always saved switched off. Nothing runs until you turn it on. See Check a routine and fix a failed run.
Troubleshooting
- “Removed N secrets”: Locul strips API keys and passwords from imported bots. Add a fresh key by hand where the bot needs one.
- “Importing from other AI apps is switched off by your admin.” Your organisation has turned imports off. Ask your admin.
