# Locul will not install or open

On Windows, if you see "Windows protected your PC", click **More info**, then **Run anyway**. On a Mac, drag Locul into Applications first, then click **Open** if macOS asks whether you want to open it.

## Check your computer is supported

- **Mac**: Apple Silicon (M1 or later). For an Intel Mac, email sales@locul.ai for the Intel build.
- **Windows**: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android are not supported. If you open the download page on a phone, choose **Email me the download link** and install on your computer.

Get the latest installer at https://locul.ai/download/.

## Install on a Mac

1. Open the .dmg file you downloaded.
2. Drag **Locul** into the **Applications** folder.
3. Open Locul from Applications, not from the .dmg window.
4. If macOS asks whether you are sure you want to open it, click **Open**.

## Install on Windows

1. Run the .exe installer you downloaded.
2. If you see **Windows protected your PC**, click **More info**.
3. Click **Run anyway**.
4. Follow the installer, then open Locul from the Start menu.

## Locul opens but asks for a plan

If you see **Locul needs a plan to run**, your trial or plan has ended, or you are signed in with a different email from the one you paid with. See [Plan not showing after you paid](/articles/plan-not-showing-after-you-paid). If your plan has ended, that screen also offers **Export my memories** so you can keep a copy.

## Troubleshooting

- **Nothing happens when you open Locul.** Quit it fully (on a Mac, right-click its Dock icon and choose Quit), then open it again.
- **The installer will not run on a work computer.** Your IT team may block new apps. Ask them to allow Locul.
- **Still stuck?** Email support@locul.ai with your computer model, operating system version, the Locul version you downloaded and a screenshot of the error.
