# How do I get a copy of my memories?

To get a full copy of your memories, email support@locul.ai from the address you sign in with and we send it to you. If your trial or plan has ended, you can export them yourself straight from the app.

## If your trial or plan has ended

Locul shows a screen with a card called **Your memories are yours**.

1. Click **Export my memories**.
2. Wait for the message that says how many memories were exported and where they were written.

You get two files, one JSON and one Markdown, named after today's date. Memories are grouped by the note they came from.

## If your account is active

There is no export button on an active account yet. Email support@locul.ai and ask for a copy of your memories.

## What you already have as plain files

- **Your notes.** Locul reads your own files where they already are, so you have them.
- **Each bot's rules and files.** Open a bot's details, click the **Files** tab, then **Open folder**. The bot's memory.md and other files are plain text you can copy.
